Welcome to our website.

please go to

You have probably found yourself here because my website is on the labels of my products.

In 2014 I caught Guillain Barre Syndrome and ended up paralysed. This is why you have not seen me at the usual fairs and shows.

I am getting back to health and although I now have mobility issues I intend for 2016 to be a good year. I am planning new ranges and new products including deodorant and perfume to match the soaps and moisturisers.

Please look up Guillain Barre as I had never heard of it before I caught it. It is indiscriminate of age, gender, race and fitness and can be fatal. If you can donate to the Guillain Barre Charity I would be eternally grateful.

We are moving to Lincolnshire and will soon have more space to store products and maybe even be able to facilitate visitors to our barns.

Anosmic Soaps because you care about what you use on your skin.

Proud to be a member of the Guild of Craft Soap and Toiletry Makers

About Us

We first started making our own soap when we could not find any soap on the market that did not bring our son out in a rash. After a lot of research we discovered that most of the well known soap brands are not actually soap at all but a bar of set chemical detergent. Then after more research and we were lead to making our own soap so we would know what was in it.

Real Soap takes a long time to cure and does not lend itself to mass production. Which is why it is rare to find real soap in mass production. The attention to detail that is put into every batch of soap can only found in the handmade artisan soaps.

The commonly held misconception that soap can dry your skin is just not true. Soap does not dry your skin, chemicals and detergent dry your skin. Our soaps are full of skin friendly oils and not artificial detergents so does not dry your skin.

Here at Anosmic Soaps we pride ourselves on sourcing the best natural ingredients for our soaps. We are constantly looking for ethically sourced ingredients and seek out the most pure sources for our ranges. If your favorite soap looks a little different please remember that handmade soap cannot always guarantee to look identical every time. But that is why our customers come back time and again, because you know the difference.

We have soaps for all skin types, it’s all about the ingredients and the benefits to your skin or well being. Using nut oils, arnica, Vitamin E, Argan oil, Lavender Oil, all our ingredients are sourced from the purest forms and over time you will get to know the lengths we go to to get things just right which can involve grinding Myrrh resin by hand in a mortar with a pestle. You just know that the individual care which goes into every bar can only be found at a company which cares about the product and not just the bottom line.

I have not seen you in a while!
Sorry about that. yes I am afraid that 2014 was a bad year for me as I caught Guillain Barre Syndrome. It's a horrible illness and I went from fit and healthy to paralysed overnight. We will be unlikely to do any shows this year either as my walking is still not fantastic. I really do not want anyone to have to through what I did but Guillain Barre is incurable and there is no preventative inoculation nor does any part of your lifestyle make you more or less likely to catch it. young old, fit, or couch potato you have an equal chance of catching it. Please check out the GBS website for more information. www.gaincharity.org.uk

There's lumps in my soap!!!!!
I should think so too! If the ingredients say there is a specific ingredient in the soap don't be surprised to find that in your soap. Whether it be ground ginger, vanilla pod, raspberry leaf, or pure 24k gold leaf.

SLS Confusion.
I hate to get technical but there seems to be some confusion around SLS. The bad SLS is Sodium Laureth Sulphate it is found in washing powder and other chemical detergents. It is an inexpensive and effective foaming agent. I like the Wikipedia comment that "it makes personal care products behave like soap.” Sodium Laurel Sulphate on the other hand is an organosulphate usually derived from coconut or palm oils. Basically a natural product having gone through the soap making process. If my soaps say SLS free they mean the bad detergent kind, so please do not confuse the two. It is unfortunate that the two substances are so similar in name.

Animal fat!
We have noticed that a large number of people do not realise that Sodium Tallowate is animal fat. Although this is an ancient and authentic soap ingredient we choose not use it. So rest assured that vegetarians and those with religious views on the use of animal products can happily use our products. When we do use an animal product it will be obvious and not hidden by chemical names. The only 2 animal products we use is Goats Milk and Honey. We find most vegetarians are happy about this but Vegans prefer to use the products with no animal products at all.  But do check your mass produced cleansing products for animal products and Sodium Tallowate ingredient if having animal products in your body wash bothers you.
